Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Boys win East Husker Conference Tournament and beat Clarkson/Leigh; Girls down Clarkson/Leigh and Boys Town

The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Boys Basketball team won 61-53 at home over Oakland-Craig last Friday night in the East Husker Conference Tournament Semifinals, downed BRLD 38-36 in the Championship game at Central Community College in Columbus on Saturday, and won 67-39 at home over Clarkson/Leigh Tuesday night.

The Raiders led 19-11 after one, and outscored the Knights 18-10 in the 2nd quarter to take a 37-21 lead into the locker room.

Both teams scored 14 points in the 3rd quarter, and the score after 3 was 51-35 in favor of LVSS.

Oakland-Craig outscored the Raiders 18-10 in the 4th quarter.

Head Coach Sean Forbes. "Ben Moxness broke the Logan View career scoring record tonight with his 28 point performance!"

Jacob Polk added 14 while Nathan Taylor and Alex Hagerbaumer totaled 10 and 7, respectively.

Against BRLD, the Raiders led 7-5 after one before the Wolverines won the 2nd quarter 7-4 to take a 12-11 lead into the locker room.

LVSS went on a 9-0 run to start the 3rd quarter, and tripled up BRLD 18-6 in the period to lead 29-18 at the end of three.

The Wolverines doubled up the Raiders 18-9 in the 4th quarter.

Polk had a game-high 14 points for LVSS while Taylor notched 10.

The Raiders held a 20-12 lead after one on Clarkson/Leigh, and doubled up the Patriots 18-9 in the 2nd quarter to take a 38-21 lead into the locker room.

LVSS won the 3rd quarter 14-9 to go up 52-30 at the end of three before outscoring Clarkson/Leigh 15-9 in the 4th quarter.

Moxness had a game-high 26 points while Polk totaled 19 points and 9 rebounds.

The Raiders are playing great basketball right now. Definitely the time of year to be on top of your game.

LVSS (19-2) hosts BRLD (19-2) Friday night.

The Wolverines won 64-53 at home over Wisner-Pilger Tuesday night.

Round 2 should be a great one.

It's not easy to beat a great time twice in such a short amount of time, but having BRLD at home should help.

I think the Raiders are in good shape right now as far as the wildcard point standings are concerned as they currently sit 3rd in C-1, but LVSS can't afford to drop both this one with the Wolverines, and next Friday night's game at Yutan.

I think the Raiders have to find a way to win one or both games to give themselves a good chance of making state via wildcard should they need it.

It's the time of year where champions are made and dreams are realized, and I fully expect LVSS to come out and play a great game.

Things are always tough this time of year, and these next two games are only going to help prepare the Raiders for the postseason and give them an idea of the kind of teams they're going to see in a district final and state should LVSS make it that far.

The Raiders have a very tough road to Lincoln, but they are definitely capable of making state for the first time in school history.

LVSS might be able to create some separation between themselves and the couple other teams below them in the C-1 wildcard points standings by finishing the regular season with two wins.

The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Girls Basketball Team upset Clarkson/Leigh 45-40 at home Tuesday night before defeating Boys Town 53-15 at home Thursday night.

The Raiders led Clarkson/Leigh 15-13 after one before the Patriots won the 2nd quarter 14-13 to make it a 28-27 game at halftime in favor of LVSS.

Clarkson/Leigh outscored the Raiders 10-2 in the 3rd quarter to go up 37-30 at the end of three.

LVSS outscored the Patriots 15-3 in the 4th quarter.

Valerie Uehling had 13 points while Kaylee Boyle notched 10 points and 9 rebounds. Ashley Peters and Shaylin Daugherty added 8 apiece while Daugherty also had 9 rebounds.

The Raiders shutout the Cowboys 25-0 in the 1st quarter, and outscored Boys Town 17-4 in the 2nd quarter to take a 42-4 lead into the locker room.

LVSS won the 3rd quarter 7-4 to go up 49-8 at the end of three.

The Cowboys won the 4th quarter 7-4.

Boyle had a game-high 23 points while Morgan Morgan totaled 8.

The Raiders are playing great basketball right now. It's like LVSS just hit a magic button.

The Raiders (7-14) host BRLD (18-4) in the regular season finale Friday night.

The Wolverines won 58-52 at home over Wisner-Pilger Tuesday night.

BRLD has won 5 straight and 9 out of their last 10.

LVSS has won 3 in a row though.

It's a matchup of two teams who are playing great basketball right now.

I fully expect the Raiders to challenge and give the Wolverines a game.

BRLD may win, but just to talk about LVSS and their potential of beating the 18-4 Wolverines is a big deal.

The Raiders are finally starting to put things together at the end of the regular season, and it has to be a promising and encouraging sign.

Hopefully the solid play carries over to Friday's game and into sub-districts next week.

LVSS is definitely on the right track, and figures to have a good chance to finish the season strong.

Anything can happen this time of year, and if I'm any team out there I don't know if I want to see the Raiders right now.

LVSS has become a scary and dangerous team. A giant killer you could say.

The Raiders pretty much knocked Clarkson/Leigh out of wildcard contention, now we'll see if they can do the same to BRLD.
