Tekamah-Herman Boys end year with Sub-District loss to Fort Calhoun

The Tekamah-Herman Boys Basketball Team saw their season come to an end Monday night when they lost 62-40 in the C1-4 Sub-District Play-In-Game at Oakland-Craig.

The Pioneers led 16-11 after one, and outscored the Tigers 16-10 in the 2nd quarter to go up 32-21 at halftime.

Fort Calhoun outscored Tekamah-Herman 19-9 in the 3rd quarter to lead 51-30 at the end of three.

The Pioneers won the 4th quarter 11-10.

Clay Beaumont led the Tigers with a game-high 15 points. Cole Friedel added 8.

I thought Tekamah-Herman really battled tough in this one all things considering. I thought this was one of the Tigers' better games of the year.

Tekamah-Herman finishes the season 0-20.

Definitely a really hard season again for the Tigers, who finished winless for the 2nd year in a row.

The difference between this year and last though was Tekamah-Herman had more kids out for the team, and was able to play a full JV schedule.

The Tigers graduate just two seniors in Mack Braniff and Johnny Braniff.

These two will be missed no doubt, but Tekamah-Herman has to be looking towards the future given who all they bring back.

The Tigers return Beaumont, Luke Wakehouse, Chauncey Rogers, Friedel, and others.

Tekamah-Herman figures to be improved over last year given the fact that the majority of the team returns.

The Tigers need a lot of offseason work and growth to be successful next season though.

Tekamah-Herman has to get bigger, faster, and stronger between now and November, and has to work extremely hard in the weightroom and on the court.

The Tigers have to workout hard, and must exert their bodies as much as possible.

Tekamah-Herman's returning players and newcomers have to push themselves as much as they can to become great.

The Tigers have to hit the weights and court as much as possible.

Tekamah-Herman has to go outside and enjoy the nice summer days and shoot around as opposed to sitting inside and playing video games all day.

Not saying that the Tigers play video games all day, but I think playing basketball or another sport would be more beneficial than doing indoor activities, at least from a sport growth and development standpoint.

These kids have to want to get better, and have to want to work hard, grow, and improve throughout the course of the offseason.
