BRLD Boys lose to Logan View/Scribner-Snyder
The BRLD Boys lost 37-32 at home to Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Friday night.
The Wolverines led 13-6 after one and outscored the Raiders 9-4 in the second quarter to take a 22-10 lead into the locker room.
LV/SS doubled up BRLD 12-6 in the third quarter to make it a 28-22 game at the end of three.
The Raiders put up 15 points in the fourth quarter and limited the Wolverines to 4.
Aaron Ras and Montana Riecken had 8 points apiece.
I thought BRLD did a great job of getting out to a big lead, but holding onto it was an issue.
The Wolverines (13-10) host Pender (5-16) in the regular season finale Friday night.
The Pendragons lost 62-49 at Stanton on Saturday.
BRLD knocked off Pender 66-48 in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament on Saturday, January 28th in Genoa.
The Pendragons have made some nice improvements this season, but this should be another win for the Wolverines.
I expect BRLD to come into this game motivated and upset given how the LV/SS game ended.
I'm sure the Wolverines feel they're better than what they showed in the second half of that game, and will be out to prove themselves Friday night.
I look for BRLD to win big, giving themselves the momentum needed for Sub-Districts next week.
The Wolverines have Omaha Nation in the first round of Sub-Districts on Tuesday, and I feel BRLD can knock off the Chiefs.
The Wolverines can't overlook or look past Pender though as the Pendragons must have the respect of BRLD.
The Wolverines have to get out and run, and play stronger offense than they did against the Raiders.
10 second half points isn't going to cut it in any game. BRLD has to be better than that.
So I look for the Wolverines to have an offensive explosion and play well against Pender.
I think BRLD will have a game to remember for the seniors.
It would be such a big deal for the Wolverine seniors to go out winners too given what they have meant to their schools over the last four years.
