North Bend Central Boys 3-1 in last four games

The North Bend Central Boys are 3-1 in their last four games, beating Howells-Dodge 62-47 at home last Thursday night, and Tekamah-Herman 75-41 on the road Friday night, before losing 51-48 at home to Columbus Scotus Monday night, and downing Schuyler 60-33 at home Tuesday night.

The Tigers doubled up the Jaguars 22-11 in the first quarter. Both teams scored 12 points in the second quarter to make it a 34-23 game at halftime in favor of North Bend Central.

The Tigers outscored Howells-Dodge 28-24 in the second half.

Jake Wietfeld had a team-high 22 points while Tanner Wietfeld and Matt Ortmeier notched 10 apiece. Austin Endof added 9 while John Emanuel posted 8.

Both North Bend Central and the Shamrocks scored 12 points in the first quarter. The Tigers won the second quarter 16-13 to take a 28-25 lead into the locker room.

Scotus outscored North Bend Central 13-9 in the third quarter to go up 38-37 at the end of three.

The Shamrocks put up 13 points in the fourth quarter compared to 11 for the Tigers.

Jake Wietfeld had a game-high 19 points while Tanner Wietfeld notched 13.

North Bend Central jumped out to a 12-5 lead on the Warriors at the end of one. The Tigers won the second quarter 15-11 to take a 27-16 lead into the locker room.

North Bend Central outscored Schuyler 21-8 in the third quarter to go up 48-24 at the end of three.

The Tigers put up 12 points in the fourth quarter compared to 9 for the Warriors.

Tanner Wietfeld led the way with 15 points while Jake Wietfeld and Endorf totaled 12 points apiece. Emanuel and Ortmeier posted 10 and 8, respectively.

North Bend Central showed no ill effects from the East Husker Conference Tournament as the Tigers continued to play at a high level, in my opinion.

North Bend Central (17-4) travels to Fort Calhoun to take on the Pioneers (5-14) Friday night.

Fort Calhoun lost 47-37 at Raymond Central Friday night.

The Pioneers have really struggled so far this year, and quite honestly the Tigers shouldn't have much trouble beating them.

North Bend Central has to use this game as a game to strengthen themselves for the postseason.

The Tigers are most likely going to need to win their way to Lincoln this year as a wildcard looks like iffy at this point so this is a game I feel North Bend Central can fine tune some things and work out some kinks in.

This is the Tigers' last chance to work out anything they are struggling with at the moment as everything is on the line and really counts next week.

North Bend Central takes on David City Aquinas Tuesday night so the Tigers have to use this game with Fort Calhoun as preparation for the postseason.

This may be a game North Bend Central can experiment and try some new things in.

The Tigers should be loose and energetic, and ready and prepared to get after things for four quarters.

Jake and Tanner Wietfeld, Ortmeier, Emanuel, Endorf, and even James Seymour need to step up offensively for North Bend Central like they have for much of the season.

The Tigers need to play well so they can be fully ready to go for next week, in my opinion.

This one of these games where North Bend Central needs to build a big lead so they can rest starters.

With this being the third game this week and playing again on Tuesday I'm sure the starters could use a little second half rest in this game even if they don't think they need it.

The Tigers have to come ready to dominate, and must try and click on all cylinders regardless of who is in the game.
