Clarkson/Leigh Girls drop EHC Tournament Consolation Game to Oakland-Craig

The Clarkson/Leigh Girls lost 48-36 to Oakland-Craig in an East Husker Conference Tournament Consolation Game at Twin River Thursday night.

The Knights got out to a 13-9 lead at the end of one before outscoring the Patriots 13-8 in the second quarter to take a 26-17 lead into the locker room.

Clarkson/Leigh won the third quarter 10-4 to make it a 30-27 game at the end of three.

Oakland-Craig doubled up the Patriots 18-9 in the fourth quarter.

This had to be a tough loss for Clarkson/Leigh. I thought the game would be more in the Patriots' favor than it was.

Clarkson/Leigh (7-11) hosts Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (5-13) Tuesday night.

The Raiders downed Madison 47-19 in another tournament consolation game Thursday night at Genoa.

I would call LV/SS's win over the Dragons the Raiders' best win of the season so far.

This could definitely be an interesting game given the Patriots' loss to Oakland-Craig and LV/SS's win over Madison.

I think the Raiders have to be viewed as a legitimate threat to knock off Clarkson/Leigh.

Now with that said, the Patriots have played a tough schedule and are at home.

The thing Clarkson/Leigh can't afford to do though is look ahead to Stanton.

It would be so easy for the Patriots to overlook LV/SS and gear up for the Mustangs, but Clarkson/Leigh has to be ready to take the Raiders' best shot Tuesday night.

Plus this is the final time lone senior Shelby Paprocki will ever play at home so her and the rest of her teammates have to make it a night for her to remember.

The Patriots have to try and slow down players like Kaylee Boyle, Mackenzy Schreck, and Morgan Morgan.

This should be a really interesting game given how well LV/SS played last time out and the fact Clarkson/Leigh lost to Oakland-Craig.

I think at the very least the Raiders should have the Patriots' attention.
