Clarkson/Leigh Boys 0-2, Girls 2-0 in last two games

The Clarkson/Leigh Boys Basketball Team lost 58-52 to Pender in an East Husker Conference Tournament Consolation Game at home Friday night before falling 48-27 at Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Tuesday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.

The Patriots led the Pendragons 15-9 at the end of one. Pender won the 2nd quarter 15-14 to make it a 29-24 game at halftime.

The Pendragons doubled up Clarkson/Leigh 18-9 in the 3rd quarter to pull in front 42-38 at the end of three.

Pender won the 4th quarter 16-14.

Jarred Novotny had 25 points for the Patriots while Carter Hanel added a double-double of 10 points and 16 rebounds. Eli Hays had 7 rebounds.

The Raiders got out to a 9-2 lead at the end of one, and won the 2nd quarter 12-8 to take a 21-10 lead into the locker room.

LVSS won the 3rd quarter 11-7 to extend their lead to 32-17 at the end of three.

The Raiders outscored the Patriots 16-10 in the 4th quarter.

Novotny had 10 points while Hanel notched 8 points and 8 rebounds.

Two tough losses for Clarkson/Leigh.

The Patriots (5-13) host Stanton (4-16) Thursday night.

The Mustangs lost 57-33 at Boone Central/Newman Grove Tuesday night.

I think Clarkson/Leigh has a shot to get back on track and win this one.

If the Patriots can push the scoring and push pace of the game and things of that sort then I feel they can definitely win.

If the game is low scoring and defensive then that's when things would get a little dicey for Clarkson/Leigh, in my opinion.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

I think the Patriots have the potential to win 2 out of their last 3 if not their last three games of the regular season.

We are getting down to the very end, the very nitty gritty.

You want to be playing your best basketball at the end of the season, and so it's now or never for Clarkson/Leigh in terms of playing well and getting back on track.

The Patriots have to play with a sense of urgency and purpose Thursday night.

Clarkson/Leigh has to do everything possible and in their power to right the ship.

The Patriots have had a rough go of things as of late, but still have time to get things going again with three regular season games left.

Clarkson/Leigh is likely going to play Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family in Sub-Districts so the Patriots have to get ready and prepare for a potential date with the Bulldogs.

Clarkson/Leigh has to rediscover themselves offensively, and pick things up defensively as well.

The Patriots have to get back to playing the way they were in early to mid-January.

It kind of seems like Clarkson/Leigh has been in a slump ever since the loss to Lutheran High Northeast on Friday, January 24th.

The Patriots have to figure out what has gone wrong and make changes and adjustments so that they can get back on the winning side of things.

The Clarkson/Leigh Girls beat Tekamah-Herman 44-41 in an East Husker Conference Tournament Consolation Game at Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family Thursday night before winning 54-26 at Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Tuesday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.

The Tigers led 13-11 after one. The Patriots outscored Tekamah-Herman 15-6 in the 2nd quarter to take a 26-19 lead into the locker room.

The Tigers won the 3rd quarter 12-8 to make it a 34-31 game at the end of three.

Both teams scored 10 points in the 4th quarter.

Cassidy Hoffman had 11 points and 13 rebounds, good enough for a double-double, while Ashlynn Novotny totaled 8 points and Kennedy Settje 7.

The Patriots led the Raiders 13-4 after one. Clarkson/Leigh tripled up Logan View/Scribner-Snyder 21-7 in the 2nd quarter to take a 34-11 lead into the locker room.

Both teams scored 8 points in the 3rd quarter, and the score was 42-19 at the end of three in favor of the Patriots.

Clarkson/Leigh won the 4th quarter 12-7.

Kayden Schumacher led the way with 11 points while Hoffman notched 10. Kim Stodola added 8 points and 7 rebounds while Settje notched 7.

Two good wins for the Patriots. I thought Clarkson/Leigh broke out on Tuesday.

The Patriots (16-5) host Stanton (5-15) in Thursday night's regular season finale.

The Mustangs lost 48-47 at Boone Central/Newman Grove Tuesday night.

Clarkson/Leigh beat Stanton 28-16 at home in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament on Friday, January 31st.

The Patriots kind of had a bit of a stretch where they weren't playing their best basketball, in my opinion.

I think perhaps Clarkson/Leigh has gotten back to playing their best though.

We will see what happens Thursday night, but it's vital the Patriots play well.

Reasons being Clarkson/Leigh could very well end up seeing Stanton again in Sub-Districts and it's the last ever home game for these seniors.

The Patriots have to come out and smash the Mustangs from start to finish come Thursday night.

Clarkson/Leigh has to begin their quest to make it to Lincoln if they haven't already.

The Patriots have to come out and take care of business against Stanton Thursday night.

Clarkson/Leigh can't let the Mustangs hang around and give them a chance like the first meeting.

Easier said than done though as it is very difficult to beat a team more than once in a season, especially 3 times like the two teams could play.

The Patriots have to remain calm and be patient and believe that they have a great chance to win though.

Clarkson/Leigh has to play their game and do their thing, and not be rattled or flustered by anyone or anything.

The Patriots must take the fight to Stanton, and assert themselves like they would in the postseason.

Clarkson/Leigh has to play smart with heart, and really take it to the Mustangs for four quarters.

The Patriots need 32 minutes of great basketball both on offense and defense.

Clarkson/Leigh has to make life difficult on Stanton, and force the Mustangs out of their game and make sure they are off rhythm.
