Wisner-Pilger Boys and Girls beat Laurel-Concord-Coleridge; Girls lose to Homer in Sub-Districts

The Wisner-Pilger Boys Basketball Team won 57-55 at home over Laurel-Concord-Coleridge last Thursday night.

The Bears went up 16-9 after one before the Gators outscored them 17-10 in the 2nd quarter to tie the game at 26 at halftime.

Wisner-Pilger won the 3rd quarter 16-13 to extend their lead to 42-39 at the end of three.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge won the 4th quarter 16-15.

Heck of a win for the Gators, who have won three out of their last four.

Wisner-Pilger (14-8) rounds out the regular season at Madison (6-15) Friday night.

The Dragons won 55-44 at David City last Thursday night.

Madison has played well down the stretch and is a team to be reckoned with.

The Gators need to come out and play great and superb basketball to continue their run of momentum towards the postseason.

I feel Wisner-Pilger is on the verge of making a postseason run and getting to state.

I feel like the Gators are peaking and playing well at the right time.

Things are starting to come together for Wisner-Pilger, and the Gators have to put an exclamation point on their regular season Friday night and get ready and gear up for the postseason.

Wisner-Pilger plays Lutheran High Northeast in the C2-5 Sub-District Semifinals from Wayne on Tuesday, and that should be a great game.

The Gators need to turn in a great performance on Friday to give them even more momentum for the postseason.

Wisner-Pilger has to come out and dominate and play well from start to finish Friday night.

The Gators have to come out and not only win, but win big.

It has to be a complete game, dominating performance for 32 minutes from Wisner-Pilger.

The Gators have to be intense, and play like the game is the postseason.

Wisner-Pilger has to set a precedence for how they're going to play beginning next week.

This is the last chance for the Gators to fine tune anything that might be hampering them prior to the postseason.

The time is now for Wisner-Pilger.

It's now or never for the Gators in terms of making a State run.

It has to be this year for Wisner-Pilger if the Gators are to get the job done.

It's imperative that Wisner-Pilger plays very well and dominates Friday night.

The Wisner-Pilger Girls won won 47-39 at home over Laurel-Concord-Coleridge last Thursday night to end the regular season before falling 76-59 to Homer in the C2-4 Sub-District Play-In Game from Pender Monday night in action aired on 107.9 the Bull.

The Gators led the Bears 12-7 after one, and won the 2nd quarter 12-11 to take a 24-18 lead into the locker room.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge won the 3rd quarter 10-4 to tie the game at 28 at the end of three.

Wisner-Pilger outscored the Bears 19-11 in the 4th quarter.

The Knights led the Gators 17-11 after one. Wisner-Pilger won the 2nd quarter 15-11 to make it a 28-26 game at halftime.

Homer won the 3rd quarter 22-16 to extend their lead to 50-42 at the end of three.

The Knights outscored Wisner-Pilger 26-17 in the 4th quarter.

Karrin Jindra and Heller each scored 13 points for Wisner-Pilger with Jindra also collecting 11 rebounds to earn a double-double. Aspin Waterman scored 12 points and Kneifl added 11.

Tough way for the Gators to end the year.

Wisner-Pilger's season ends at 5-18.

It was an interesting year for the Gators.

Wisner-Pilger probably lost some games they shouldn't of.

The win over the Bears to end the regular season was a great win though and is something these seniors will remember for the rest of their lives I am sure.

The Gators won their final home game of the season, and that in itself is pretty special right there.

Wisner-Pilger says goodbye to Ashley Brahmer, Alexis Parker, Makenzi Brown, Waterman, and Jindra.

These seniors will be sorely missed for sure.

Key returners for the Gators include Kneifl, Adi Meyer, Reagan Scholting, Stuhr, and Heller.

I think the future is very bright for Wisner-Pilger and feel the sky is the limit as to how far they can go in future years.

I feel the Gators will only get better and grow from this year, and be better in the future.

I think Wisner-Pilger could of done better this year than they did, but I still feel there is a lot of potential and promise for the future.

The Gators have to work hard in the offseason and fine tune and perfect their craft and shot.

Spending countless hours in the gym and in the weightroom is going to be very important for Wisner-Pilger, in my opinion.

The Gators have to work relentlessly in the offseason to get to where they want to be.

Wisner-Pilger can become a winning program like they are in Volleyball, Softball, and Cross Country.

It just takes a lot of dedication, perseverance, sacrifice, and hard work.

The sooner the Gators get to work this offseason the more successful they will be next year.

I think Wisner-Pilger has an opportunity to do well next year, but we will see for sure as only time will tell.
