Emerson-Hubbard Boys and Girls lose to Randolph

The Emerson-Hubbard Boys Basketball Team lost 74-29 at home to Randolph Tuesday night.

The Cardinals led 24-9 at the end of one, and outscored the Pirates 29-10 in the 2nd quarter to take a 53-19 lead into the locker room.

Randolph won the 3rd quarter 12-8 to increase their lead to 65-27 at the end of three.

The Cardinals outscored Emerson-Hubbard 9-2 in the 4th quarter.

Another difficult defeat for the Pirates.

Emerson-Hubbard (4-14) takes on Omaha Nation (14-7) on the road Friday night.

The Chiefs won 106-99 at home over Walthill Tuesday night.

This is going to be another really tough game for the Pirates.

It's hard to know what to say at this point.

Emerson-Hubbard had so many high hopes and so much promise coming into this season, and things just haven't materialized the way they were hoping.

The Pirates have to continue to fight and battle no matter what, but with Randolph in their Sub-District it's going to be pretty difficult to advance.

I thought perhaps Emerson-Hubbard would step up and play the Cardinals tough, but the Pirates struggled for whatever reason.

It's kind of a sad deal for Emerson-Hubbard since this is their last season as the Emerson-Hubbard Pirates.

I'm sure this isn't the way the team wants to go out, and they still could change their fortunes before season's end, but it's going to be very difficult.

The Pirates round out the regular season at Stanton next Friday, and so perhaps Emerson-Hubbard can pick up a win in that game and allow it to carry over into Sub-Districts.

Right now it's looking like the Pirates will play Winside in the Sub-District Play-In Game next Monday unless they upset the Chiefs.

The winner would then get Randolph it appears.

Emerson-Hubbard has to keep playing hard and can't feel like they are a defeated team just yet.

The Pirates have to keep fighting and battling and must never give up.

Emerson-Hubbard has to give it their all until the very end no matter what.

The Pirates have to play with great character and attitude, and go out with their heads held high.

Emerson-Hubbard has had a tough season, but the Pirates can't hang their heads and be and get down on themselves.

Emerson-Hubbard has to simply keep fighting and battling until season's end.

The Emerson-Hubbard Girls lost 53-31 at home to Randolph Tuesday night.

The Cardinals led the Pirates 16-7 at the end of one, and outscored Emerson-Hubbard 15-8 in the 2nd quarter to take a 31-15 lead into the locker room.

Randolph won the 3rd quarter 9-7 to go up 40-22 at the end of three.

The Cardinals won the 4th quarter 13-9.

Addison Mackling had 14 points and 7 rebounds while Brynn Schock totaled 12 points.

I thought the Pirates did some nice things in this game.

Emerson-Hubbard (1-17) travels to Omaha Nation (11-12) Friday night to battle the Chiefs in the regular season finale.

Omaha Nation won 75-22 at home over Walthill Tuesday night.

The Pirates also beat the Blujays 40-34 for their only win of the season.

It's going to be really difficult for Emerson-Hubbard to be able to win this one.

The Pirates face Wynot on Monday in Sub-Districts and so these last couple of games are going to be very tough.

Emerson-Hubbard has to go out fighting and swinging though.

These next two games could be it for Emerson-Hubbard Girls Basketball.

After Monday, Emerson-Hubbard may be no more in Girls Basketball.

The Pirates have to use that as inspiration to do everything in their power to prolong their season.

Emerson-Hubbard has to play out of their minds on Friday and Monday if at all possible.

It's not going to be easy due to lack of depth and numbers the Pirates have, but Emerson-Hubbard has to make due and give it their best shot.

The Pirates have to believe that it can happen too.

Anything can happen this time of year, and Emerson-Hubbard has to go out there and give it all they got on Friday and Monday.

It won't be easy, but the Pirates have to give it their all and battle until the final buzzer sounds on their season.

Emerson-Hubbard has to have good character and attitude with the season coming to a halt.

It's a sad deal that this will be it for Emerson-Hubbard as a team by themselves, but the Pirates desperately need the co-op with Allen for Girls Athletics.

The co-op will be a good thing come next year, but for right now I'm sure Emerson-Hubbard is probably struggling with the idea that this is it for their program by themselves.

The Pirates have to go out there and keep fighting and battling no matter what as difficult as that may be.
