Pender Girls beat Omaha Nation in Sub-Districts

The Pender Girls Basketball Team drilled Omaha Nation 74-38 in the D1-1 Sub-District Semifinals at West Point-Beemer Tuesday night.

Really good, dominant win for the Pendragons.

Pender (16-10) battles Fremont Bergan (12-9) in the Sub-District Final Thursday night.

The Knights won 70-18 over Omaha Christian Academy in Tuesday night's Semifinals.

This game is a big one for the Pendragons.

Pender has an opportunity to knock off the defending D-1 State Champs.

Both teams appear like they could make a Sub-State game regardless of who wins on Thursday, but you always want to win your way into things in the postseason.

I really feel like the Pendragons have a shot to win this one.

Pender has played a really tough schedule, but so has Bergan.

The Knights will be tough to beat, don't let their record fool you.

I don't know if Bergan is as strong as they were last year, but the Knights are still a good ball club.

Schools like Bergan find ways to win games like these, but perhaps the Pendragons can buck the trend.

I certainly think Pender can and hope they do as it would be great to see the Pendragons in a Sub-State game with a good chance to go to State.

Ashley Ostrand has to go off for Pender, and others have to follow suit.

The Pendragons have to play together as one, and play the way they did on Tuesday.

If Pender plays like they did on Tuesday and like they did during their winning streak earlier this season then I think they have a legit shot to win Thursday night.

Bergan will be tough though, and the Pendragons have to be locked in and must make clutch plays when needed and called upon.

Pender is an exciting team to watch and broadcast, and I hope the Pendragons can pick up another win towards what we hope is a trip to Lincoln.

It will be fun and interesting to see what happens.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
