Logan View/Scribner Boys beat Stanton and Madison; Girls fall to Mustangs, beat Dragons

The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Boys have caught fire as of late, defeating Stanton 43-28 on the road Saturday before downing Madison 58-21 at home Tuesday night.

The Mustangs and Raiders were tied at 9 at the end of one. Logan View/Scribner-Snyder won the second quarter 9-5 to lead 18-14 at halftime.

The Raiders outscored Stanton 11-7 in the third quarter to go up 29-21 after three.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder doubled up the Mustangs 14-7 in the fourth quarter.

Ben Moxness had 12 points and 9 rebounds while Darnell Sims notched 12 points. Jacob Polk added 9 while Hunter Schlueter totaled 7 points and 8 rebounds.

The Raiders led the Dragons 10-4 at the end of one. Logan View/Scribner-Snyder outscored Madison 20-3 in the second quarter to go up 30-7 at halftime.

The Raiders won the third quarter 19-4 to lead 49-11 after three.

Madison notched 10 points in the fourth quarter and held Logan View/Scribner-Snyder to 9.

Moxness led the way with 16 points. Sims added 9 while Conner Gralheer totaled 7.

The Raiders have continued to play at a high level. Things are really starting to come together for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder.

The Raiders (6-5) host Weeping Water (3-9) Friday night.

The Indians lost 50-35 at home to Mead Tuesday night.

It has been a difficult season so far for Weeping Water while Logan View/Scribner-Snyder is a team on the rise.

I fully expect the Raiders to come out and play well.

I don't forese a letdown by Logan View/Scribner-Snyder whatsoever.

Moxness, Sims, Polk, and Gralheer have to keep playing well for the Raiders, and if they do, look out for the Logan View/Scribner-Snyder.

It has been a thing of beauty to see this co-op work and thrive.

The players from each school are apparently getting along and working well together, and that's what you like to see when schools join forces.

I would say the Raiders are playing up to their potential and maximizing their abilities.

There's not a lot Logan View/Scribner-Snyder hasn't done well this season. Day-by-day, game-by-game, this team is getting better and better.

And as long as the Raiders continue to improve, I see Logan View/Scribner-Snyder being a factor in conference and sub districts.

In the final game of the week, on Saturday, the Raiders ran into a tough opponent in Stanton, and fell by a final of 58-22.

Stanton jumped out to a 23-5 lead after one quarter and the Raiders were unable to get back into the game.

Ashley Peters led the Raiders in scoring with 6 points. Other scorers included Sierra Beacom-5 points 4 steals, MacKenzy Schreck-3, Abby Kahlandt-2, Paige Heinke-2, Jamie Poppe-1.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder defeated Madison 38-22 at home Tuesday night.

The Raiders led the Dragons 12-2 after one. Logan View/Scribner-Snyder outscored Madison 12-4 in the second quarter to lead 24-6 at halftime.

The Raiders won the third quarter 9-8 to go up 33-14 at the end of three.

The Dragons notched 8 fourth quarter points and held Logan View/Scribner-Snyder to 5.

Kaylee Boyle led all scorers with 14 points.

The Raiders did a good job bouncing back against Madison after losing so big to the Mustangs.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (2-9) hosts Weeping Water (4-10) Friday night.

The Indians lost 47-17 at home to Mead Tuesday night.

I think the Raiders have a chance to pick up their third win of the year Friday night.

Weeping Water has lost seven in a row, and hasn't been real competitive in their losses.

The Indians have really struggled to score, scoring in the teens on multiple occasions and even single digits once this season.

It could be argued that Weeping Water is the better team defensively solely based on statistics.

I really like Logan View/Scribner-Snyder's chances of winning their second straight game though.

I just don't feel the Indians are playing good enough basketball right now to beat the Raiders.

I was real impressed with Logan View/Scribner-Snyder the other night, and I look for the Raiders to build on the Madison win, and find more success Friday night.

I look for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder to really get after things defensively, and do enough offensively to pick up the victory.

The Raiders are nowhere near where they want to be, but Logan View/Scribner-Snyder is making strides and taking steps in the right direction.
