The Lyons-Decatur Northeast Boys won the Omaha Nation Holiday Tournament last week and defeated Wakefield 61-53 at home Tuesday night to up their record to 7-1 on the season.

Riecken led the Cougars with 18 points. Christoffersen totaled 14 while Anderson notched 13. Hegy chipped in 10.

The Cougars have played pretty good basketball as of late, although I'm not sure if Lyons-Decatur Northeast is playing as good as they were before the Holiday Break.

At any rate, the Cougars are winning, and that's good news.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast (7-1) hosts Tekamah-Herman (2-8) Friday night.

The Tigers lost 61-35 to Omaha Roncalli on Tuesday, and have had a tough go of things this season.

This is another game the Cougars should win.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast has handled their business so far this season, and it has been impressive to see.

Multiple players are scoring for the Cougars, and Lyons-Decatur Northeast is stepping things up on the defensive end of the floor as well.

The Cougars haven't had the most challenging schedule, but they're taking care of business against the hand they are dealt.

Tekamah-Herman is another one of those teams that's not great on paper, but is capable of beating anyone on any given night.

Derek Haber and Gus Langley really make the Tigers go, and can light it up on any given night.

As long as Lyons-Decatur Northeast can limit other players though they should be in good shape.

Haber and Langley may get their points, but as long as the Cougars aren't allowing three or four Tekamah-Herman players to reach double figures, they should be fine.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast has a big game at Mead on Saturday so it's important for the Cougars to win big Friday night.

The Lyons-Decatur Northeast Girls lost 66-55 to Emerson-Hubbard last Tuesday at the Omaha Nation Holiday Tournament before defeating Santee 58-10 last Wednesday in the consolation game. The Cougars blew out Wakefield 70-30 at home Tuesday night.

The Cougars played Emerson-Hubbard tough, and really played well against Santee and Wakefield. Lyons-Decatur Northeast has shown they are a very strong team.

The Cougars (7-2) host Tekamah-Herman (7-3) Friday night.

The Tigers are coming off a 43-28 win over Omaha Roncalli Tuesday night.

Tekamah-Herman has been very good this season, led by Allie Snow, Jess Fleischman, and others.

The Tigers are a tough team, and as good as Lyons-Decatur Northeast has played lately, they're going to need to play even better to knock off Tekamah-Herman.

All 9 players on the Cougars' varsity roster need to step up and contribute in some way.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast has been very strong offensively and defensively the last two games, and I look for the Cougars' prowess to carry over into Friday night's game.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast should be helped by the fact the Tigers have a tough game Thursday night against Fort Calhoun.

Tekamah-Herman may not be as fresh as the Cougars, and that should help out Lyons-Decatur Northeast quite a bit.

Any advantage the Cougars can get, I'm sure they will take it.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast needs any physical or mental edge they can get in this game because the Tigers are a good team.

Tekamah-Herman is no doubt one of the toughest teams the Cougars will have faced to this point in the season. They are comparable to Howells-Dodge and Emerson-Hubbard.
