Tekamah-Herman Boys 1-2 in last three games; Girls 3-1 in last four
The Tekamah-Herman Boys went 1-1 at the Nebraska Wesleyan Holiday Tournament last week, falling 70-51 to BDS last Tuesday before downing Friend 43-42 in last Wednesday's consolation game.
The Tigers lost 61-35 at home to Omaha Roncalli Tuesday night.
The Eagles led Tekamah-Herman 16-13 after one. BDS won the second quarter 14-11 to lead 30-24 at halftime.
The Eagles outscored the Tigers 26-14 in the third quarter to go up 56-38 at the end of three.
BDS notched 14 fourth quarter points compared to 13 for Tekamah-Herman.
Derek Haber led the way with 15 points. Gus Langley notched 13 while Dustin Pickell added 8. Bailey Fleischman notched 7.
The Bulldogs led the Tigers 15-11 at the end of one. Friend won the second quarter 10-8 to lead 25-19 at halftime.

Both teams scored 12 fourth quarter points.
Haber had a team-high 18 points while Langley registered 11 points and 8 rebounds. Fleischman totaled 8 points and 9 rebounds.
The Crimson Pride held a 23-10 advantage on the Tigers at the end of one. Omaha Roncalli won the second quarter 12-8 to go up 35-18 at halftime.
The Crimson Pride outscored Tekamah-Herman 17-6 in the third quarter to lead 52-24 at the end of three.
The Tigers put up 11 fourth quarter points compared to 9 for Omaha Roncalli.
Haber finished with 12 points. Pickell had 11 while Langley recorded 10.
Tekamah-Herman competed well for a half against BDS. The Tigers did a good job beating Friend, but had a hard time with the Crimson Pride.
Tekamah-Herman (2-8) battles Lyons-Decatur Northeast (7-1) on the road tonight.
The Cougars beat Wakefield 61-53 Tuesday night.
Lyons-Decatur Northeast hasn't played the toughest schedule, but they've done a good job of taking care of the hand they've been dealt.
Alec Anderson, Marcus Hegy, Montana Riecken, and others are tough players for the Cougars.
I don't think there's any doubt that Tekamah-Herman is going to have their work cut out for them.
Haber, Langley, Pickell, and Fleischman all need to have big games for the Tigers. All four need to reach double figures for Tekamah-Herman to have a chance, in my opinion.
The Tigers have to play with confidence, pride, passion, toughness, grit, tenacity, fire, and determination.
Tekamah-Herman has to believe they can beat Lyons-Decatur Northeast, and has to play tough minded basketball for four quarters.
The Tigers aren't a bad team they just need to raise their level of play and start getting some things to go their way. This is a winnable game for Tekamah-Herman in my mind.
We'll see what the Tigers can do. The Cougars have been consistently good so I fully expect Lyons-Decatur Northeast to make things difficult for Tekamah-Herman.
I don't see anything coming easy for the Tigers whatsoever.
The Tekamah-Herman Girls also went 1-1 at last week's Nebraska Wesleyan Holiday Tournament, losing 46-44 to BDS last Tuesday before knocking off Douglas County West by forfeit.
The Tigers defeated Omaha Roncalli 43-28 at home Tuesday night, and Fort Calhoun 46-39 at home Thursday night.
Tekamah-Herman led the Eagles 8-6 after one. BDS outscored the Tigers 20-11 in the second quarter to go up 26-19 at halftime.
Tekamah-Herman doubled up the Eagles 12-6 in the third quarter to make it a 32-31 game at the end of three.
BDS put up 14 fourth quarter points compared to 13 for the Tigers.
Tekamah-Herman held Roncalli to two first quarter points while scoring 11. The Tigers won the second quarter 14-11 to lead 25-13 at halftime.
Tekamah-Herman doubled up the Crimson Pride 12-6 in the third quarter to go up 37-19 at the end of three.
Omaha Roncalli put up 9 fourth quarter points and held the Tigers to 6.
Allie Snow had 13 points and 9 rebounds for Tekamah-Herman. Jess Fleischman had 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists for Tekamah-Herman. Hannah Tobin added 8 points.
The Pioneers led the Tigers 15-9 after one. Tekamah-Herman won the second quarter 9-7 to make it a 22-18 game at halftime.
Fort Calhoun outscored the Tigers 13-10 in the third quarter to go up 35-28 at the end of three.
Tekamah-Herman notched 18 fourth quarter points and limited the Pioneers to 4 to make up the final score.
Fleischman had 23 points and 10 rebounds, good enough for a double-double. Snow added 9 points and 12 rebounds.
What a comeback it was for the Tigers. Tekamah-Herman is playing very good basketball right now.
The Tigers (8-3) take on Lyons-Decatur Northeast (7-2) on the road tonight.
The Cougars beat Wakefield 70-30 at home Tuesday night.
Lyons-Decatur Northeast hasn't played the most difficult schedule, but the Cougars haven taken care of business against quite a few opponents.
Lyons-Decatur Northeast has lost to the tough teams on their schedule, and Tekamah-Herman is another difficult team for the Cougars.
I think the Tigers are in good shape to win tonight as long as Fleischman and Snow have big games. Anything Tobin can do would be an added bonus.
Lyons-Decatur Northeast only has 9 players on their varsity roster so depth is an issue for the Cougars.
Tekamah-Herman should be aggressive and attack the basket to try and get Lyons-Decatur Northeast in foul trouble.
This is a game the Tigers should win. Tekamah-Herman is a C-1 school playing a D-2, there's no reason to think the Tigers won't win.
The Cougars are tough, but given the way Tekamah-Herman finished against Fort Calhoun, and given what they've done recently, I like the Tigers to pick up another win tonight.
9-3 looks better than 8-4, and Tekamah-Herman would just assume be 9-3 heading into a couple of very winnable games next week.
