Stanton Boys and Girls 2-1 in last three games
The Stanton Boys won once and lost once last week, and are 1-0 so far this week as the Mustangs downed Oakland-Craig 75-58 on the road Friday night, lost 43-28 at home against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder on Saturday, and won 72-32 at home over Plainview Tuesday night.
Stanton led the Knights 16-15 after one. The Mustangs outscored Oakland-Craig 23-9 in the second quarter to take a 39-24 lead into the locker room.
Stanton won the third quarter 19-15 to go up 58-39 at the end of three.
The Knights notched 19 fourth quarter points compared to the Mustangs' 17.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder doubled up the Mustangs 14-7 in the fourth quarter.
Sieh had a team-high 11 points for Stanton.
Stanton tripled up the Pirates 18-6 in the first quarter. The Mustangs outscored Plainview 20-8 in the second quarter to take a 38-14 lead into the locker room.
Stanton won the third quarter 18-10 to go up 56-24 at the end of three.
The Mustangs doubled up the Pirates 16-8 in the fourth quarter.
Nickolite led the way with 20 points while Sperl had 12 points and 8 rebounds. Trey Erbst added 11 points while Christian Stallbaum notched 8. Brooke Klinetobe registered 7 points while Henry Bohac totaled 9 rebounds.
I'm not sure what happened to Stanton against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder. The Mustangs played great basketball against Oakland-Craig and Plainview.
Stanton (11-3) takes on Boone Central/Newman Grove (7-3) on the road Friday night.
The Cardinals picked up a huge 60-55 win at O'Neill Monday night.
The Mustangs lost 76-50 to the Eagles, and could have a huge challenge on their hands.
It's going to be very important for Stanton to show up and play a good game given what Boone Central/Newman Grove did Monday night.
The Mustangs have to play the way they did against Oakland-Craig and Plainview. Stanton can't afford to have a repeat of the Logan View/Scribner-Snyder game.
Nickolite, Sperl, Stallbaum, Sieh, and Klinetobe all need to have big games scoring for the Mustangs.
Stanton is at their best when multiple players get in on the act.
Having three players in double figures and two in high single digits is a good recipe for success.
The Mustangs need to play the way they did on both ends of the floor against the Pirates. A 40-point win is a big deal regardless of who the opponent is.
Stanton has their work cut out for them with this game being on the road, but there's no doubt in my mind the Mustangs are capable of getting the job done.
It's just going to take a great game on Stanton's part.
The Stanton Girls also went 1-1 last week and are 1-0 so far this week as the Mustangs lost 45-32 at Oakland-Craig Friday night before downing Logan View/Scribner-Snyder 58-22 at home on Saturday. Stanton beat Plainview 53-48 at home Tuesday night.
The Knights doubled up the Mustangs 12-6 in the first quarter. Oakland-Craig outscored Stanton 15-10 in the second quarter to take a 27-16 lead into the locker room.
The Knights won the third quarter 12-5 to go up 39-21 at the end of three.
The Mustangs notched 11 fourth quarter points compared to 6 for Oakland-Craig.
Jessie Brandl had 9 points and 8 rebounds for Stanton while Hiliary Huss totaled 9 points.
In the final game of the week, on Saturday, the Raiders ran into a tough opponent in Stanton, and fell by a final of 58-22.
Stanton jumped out to a 23-5 lead after one quarter and the Raiders were unable to get back into the game.
Huss led all scorers with 28 points. Bree Burtwhistle added 9 while Brandl totaled 8. Hannah Heppner notched 8 rebounds.
The Pirates jumped out to an 18-10 lead on the Mustangs after one. Stanton outscored Plainview 15-7 in the second quarter to tie the game at 25 at halftime.
The Mustangs won the third quarter 14-11 to go up 39-36 at the end of three.
Stanton totaled 14 fourth quarter points while the Pirates notched 12.
Huss led the way with 23 points while Brandl registered 7 points and 9 rebounds.
The Mustangs played incredible basketball against the Raiders. Stanton struggled against Oakland-Craig and Plainview.
The Mustangs (9-5) take on Boone Central/Newman Grove (1-9) on the road Friday night.
The Cardinals picked up their first win of the season at O'Neill Monday night, winning 51-48.
Boone Central/Newman Grove has played some opponents tough this season, others they've laid down against.
The Cardinals haven't been the most consistent team this season, and have struggled against quite a few teams.
A win can sort of change momentum and the outlook for a team, and I'm sure Boone Central/Newman Grove will be playing with more confidence than they were in the 2015 part of the season.
I fully expect Stanton to win, but the game could prove to be more difficult than what it might have been a couple of weeks ago.
The Mustangs need to be ready to play a complete, four quarter game. Stanton can't afford to start off slow like they did against Oakland-Craig and Plainview.
The Mustangs need to get off to a fast start like they did against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder.
Huss needs to keep scoring at a high rate for Stanton and Burtwhistle and Brandl need to keep helping as well.
Eventually, Stanton needs to develop more scorers.
