Oakland-Craig Boys 0-3 in last three games; Girls 3-0 in same span

The Oakland-Craig Boys went 0-2 last week and are 0-1 so far this week, falling 75-58 at home to Stanton Friday night, Winnebago 91-48 Saturday night, and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family 64-45 Tuesday night.

Stanton led the Knights 16-15 after one. The Mustangs outscored Oakland-Craig 23-9 in the second quarter to take a 39-24 lead into the locker room.

Stanton won the third quarter 19-15 to go up 58-39 at the end of three.

The Knights notched 19 fourth quarter points compared to the Mustangs' 17.

Garrett Seagren led the way with 25 points. Carter Thiele notched 16 while Evan Reinert recorded 11.

The Indians led the Knights 27-16 after one. Winnebago won the second quarter 23-15 to go up 50-31 at halftime.

The Indians outscored Oakland-Craig 32-9 in the third quarter to lead 82-40 at the end of three.

Winnebago scored 9 fourth quarter points compared to 8 for the Knights.

Thiele had a team-high 14 points while Seagren and Reinert totaled 12 and 8, respectively.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 19-8 lead at the end of the first quarter. Oakland-Craig won the second quarter 15-11 to make it a 30-23 game at halftime.

Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family outscored the Knights 15-9 in the third quarter to lead 45-32 at the end of three.

The Bulldogs put up 19 fourth quarter points while Oakland-Craig scored 13.

Seagren had a game-high 18 points and 9 rebounds while Thiele added 14 points. Reinert registered 7 rebounds.

The Knights really struggled defensively, and even offensively, against all three teams. Oakland-Craig just hasn't been able to keep up the same level of play they had in the early part of the season.

The Knights (4-9) look to snap a three-game losing streak Friday night when they take on Bancroft-Rosalie (7-4) on the road.

The Panthers lost 45-42 at home to West Point-Beemer on Saturday.

Like Oakland-Craig, Bancroft-Rosalie has struggled as of late.

This is definitely a matchup between two teams who could really use a win.

Both teams have scorers, although I think the Panthers might be a stronger defensive team.

When both teams are on, they are on, but when they are off, they are off.

There's plenty of talent and athleticism on both teams, it simply comes down to which team utilizes its strengths better.

So far, Bancroft-Rosalie has probably had the better season, but both teams have played great at times and struggled at others.

Inconsistency has reared its ugly head on both teams, and neither team has had the easiest time as of late.

A win would be big for either team. I'm not sure who needs this one more.

It's going to be awfully difficult for the Knights to win, especially with the game being in Bancroft, but anything can happen in this game.

Perhaps this is the game that gets Oakland-Craig back on track, we will see.

The Oakland-Craig Girls went 2-0 last week, and are 1-0 so far this week, downing Stanton 45-32 at home Friday night, Winnebago 61-45 Saturday night, and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family 57-45 Tuesday night.

The Knights doubled up the Mustangs 12-6 in the first quarter. Oakland-Craig outscored Stanton 15-10 in the second quarter to take a 27-16 lead into the locker room.

The Knights won the third quarter 12-5 to go up 39-21 at the end of three.

The Mustangs notched 11 fourth quarter points compared to 6 for Oakland-Craig.

Dacey Nelson had a game-high 18 points. Brynn Charling totaled 7.

Oakland-Craig led the Indians 20-9 at the end of one. The Knights won the second quarter 10-9 to lead 30-18 at halftime.

Oakland-Craig outscored Winnebago 14-5 in the third quarter to go up 44-23 at the end of three.

The Indians notched 22 fourth quarter points compared to 17 for the Knights.

Emma Reinert posted a game-high 19 points and 14 rebounds, good enough for a double-double. Nelson finished with 12 points while Charling had 10 points and 11 rebounds. Bailey Charling chipped in 9 points.

The Bulldogs led Oakland-Craig 12-9 at the end of one. The Knights won the second quarter 15-8 to lead 24-20 at halftime.

Oakland-Craig outscored Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family 17-9 in the third quarter to go up 41-29 at the end of three.

Both teams scored 16 fourth quarter points.

Nelson had a game-high 18 points while Reinert totaled 12 points and 9 rebounds. Brynn Charling recorded 12 points.

The Knights are playing great basketball right now. Oakland-Craig is playing at a very high level.

The Knights (10-2) take on Bancroft-Rosalie (3-8) in Bancroft Friday night.

The Panthers lost 55-43 at home to West Point-Beemer on Saturday.

Bancroft-Rosalie isn't a bad team, but the Panthers have certainly had their struggles so far this season.

Bancroft-Rosalie has the potential to start games off well, but for whatever reason can't sustain the same level of play throughout an entire contest.

Oakland-Craig is catching the Panthers at a good time. This couldn't be a more favorable matchup for the Knights.

I look for Nelson, Brynn and Bailey Charling, Reinert, and others to keep things up with their offensive prowess.

I also look for Olivia Bures and Melanie Snader to get into the act.

A lot of players should see the floor for Oakland-Craig Friday night.

I expect nothing but a big win for the Knights. Oakland-Craig appears to be the real deal.

The rest of the season is pretty difficult for the Knights so Oakland-Craig needs to win this game big to set the tone for the rest of the year.

The Knights have a big game with Tekamah-Herman on Tuesday.
