The Stanton Boys won one and lost one at their own Holiday Tournament last week, defeating West Holt 58-55 in overtime before losing the championship game to O'Neill, 76-50.

Stanton has played good basketball as of late. Yes the Mustangs lost to O'Neill, but Stanton came back with two resounding wins.
The Mustangs (9-2) take on Oakland-Craig (4-6) on the road tonight.
The Knights defeated Centennial 56-51 last Wednesday at the Malcolm Holiday Tournament after losing to Wilber-Clatonia, 44-34, last Tuesday, also at the Malcolm Holiday Tournament.
Oakland-Craig is a pretty respectable team, and won't be easy for Stanton whatsoever, in my opinion.
Carter Thiele, Cody Mace, Garrett Seagren, and Evan Reinert are tough, good players for the Knights, and have led this team.
It's hard to know what you're going to get from Oakland-Craig. They are so Helter Skelter. Some nights they play well defensively, but struggle offensively. Other nights they play well offensively, but struggle on defense. Other times they do both well, and struggle with both.
The Mustangs have been pretty consistent this year, and should have the edge given the way they've played so far this season.
That doesn't always mean everything though. The Knights are capable of putting together a good game and beating Stanton so the Mustangs have to be ready to play.
I fully expect Oakland-Craig to give Stanton all they can handle. I could see this game going either way.
One thing is for sure, there should be quite a bit of scoring on both sides. I look for both teams to have multiple players in double figures.
I'm looking for a game in the 50's or 60's.
The Stanton Girls continue to roll, defeating West Holt 53-23 last Tuesday and O'Neill 51-29 last Wednesday at the Stanton Holiday Tournament. The Mustangs won 58-49 at Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family on Saturday before beating Battle Creek 48-29 at home Tuesday night.

The Huskies won the third quarter 11-8 to make it a 40-21 game at the end of three.
The Mustangs outscored West Holt 13-2 in the fourth quarter.
Hiliary Huss led the way with 19 points. Jessie Brandl added 9 while Ali Wade scored 8. MacKenzie Brandl registered 7 points and 8 rebounds.
Stanton and the Eagles were tied at 10 at the end of one. The Mustangs outscored O'Neill 19-3 in the second quarter to lead 29-13 at halftime.
Stanton won the third quarter 15-11 to go up 44-24 at the end of three.
The Mustangs put up 7 fourth quarter points and held the Eagles to 5.

Huss led all scorers with 22 points. MacKenzie Brandl registered 13 while Jessie Brandl totaled 8.
The Mustangs held a 15-8 advantage on the Braves at the end of one. Stanton won the second quarter 12-7 to lead 27-15 at halftime.
The Mustangs doubled up Battle Creek 8-4 in the third quarter to lead 35-19 after three.
Stanton outscored the Braves 13-10 in the fourth quarter.
Huss led the way with 31 points. Jessie Brandl notched 7.
The Mustangs are playing mighty fine basketball right now. Stanton struggled early, but appears to have put their struggles behind them.
The Mustangs (7-4) battle Oakland-Craig (7-2) on the road tonight.
The Knights finished second at the Malcolm Holiday Tournament last week, beating Wilber-Clatonia 55-48 last Tuesday before dropping the championship game to the host Clippers, 42-35.
This should be a very good game between two teams who are playing at a high level right now.
Oakland-Craig has been the more consistent team this season, and has played better throughout the entire year, but it could be argued that Stanton is playing the best basketball between the two teams right now.
This Mustangs' team has caught fire, and it has been impressive to see them play up to their potential.
This is a real difficult test for Stanton though. We will truly find out tonight how much progress the Mustangs have made.
Huss has to continue to score the ball the way she has lately for Stanton. She has really put this team on her back, and stepped up and become a leader.
The Mustangs definitely wouldn't be as good without her.
It will be interesting to see what Stanton can do tonight. I'm anticipating a close, tightly contested battle.
I think the Mustangs have a fairly good chance to win, but it won't be easy. Stanton is going to have to play a good game to pull out the win, in my opinion.
This is a big game for the Mustangs. We will find out how much this team wants it tonight.
