Winnebago Boys and Girls beat Laurel-Concord-Coleridge

The Winnebago Boys stayed unbeaten with an 83-63 home win over Laurel-Concord-Coleridge on Saturday.

The Indians spurted out to a 32-17 lead at the end of one. Winnebago outscored the Bears 32-15 in the second quarter to take a 64-32 lead into the locker room.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge won the third quarter 17-11 to make it a 75-49 game at the end of three.

The Bears put up 14 fourth quarter points and limited the Indians to 8.

What a first half Winnebago played. The Indians put Laurel-Concord-Coleridge away and left no doubt as to who the better team is.

Winnebago (18-0) squares off with Bancroft-Rosalie (8-7) on the road Tuesday night.

The Panthers lost 49-37 at Ponca Friday night.

Winnebago beat Ponca by 9 so based on that Winnebago should win rather easily.

As long as the Indians are focused and ready to go there's no doubt in my mind they will cruise to an easy victory.

Bancroft-Rosalie has really struggled lately since starting the season off hot.

Add in the fact the Panthers are a D-2 school and Winnebago is C-2 it makes it that much more difficult for Bancroft-Rosalie.

The Indians want to win big for momentum purposes heading into the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament.

Winnebago is a team on a mission, and I don't see the Panthers slowing the Indians down or getting in their way.

It should be business as usual for Winnebago. I don't foresee the Indians having any trouble with Bancroft-Rosalie whatsoever.

The only way I see this game being close is if Winnebago isn't ready to play, but for the most part the Indians have been ready to play all year so I don't see that being an issue.

Another win means Winnebago remains undefeated and takes another step towards their goal of winning another state championship.

The Winnebago Girls snapped their 8-game losing streak on Saturday, picking up a 57-46 home win over Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.

The Indians led 22-12 after one. Winnebago outscored the Bears 16-13 in the second quarter to go up 38-25 at halftime.

Both teams scored 9 third quarter points, and the score at the end of three was 47-34 in favor of the Indians.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge won the fourth quarter 12-10.

Winnebago did a good job jumping on the Bears early. The game was basically decided in the first quarter.

The Indians (5-13) take on Bancroft-Rosalie (5-10) on the road Tuesday night.

The Panthers lost 64-57 at home to Ponca Friday night.

This should be a really good game.

Bancroft-Rosalie has played their best basketball of the season lately, and has started to turn the corner some.

I feel both teams are capable of putting together a good game and winning Tuesday night.

I also feel like Winnebago can play better than they have. This team has sort of underachieved, in my opinion.

There's no doubt the Indians are capable of playing well for more than just a quarter.

Winnebago needs to play better Tuesday night than they did in the final three quarters against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.

The Indians can't expect to win a lot of games playing real well for just one quarter a game.

I'm not saying it's going to take four dominant quarters to beat the Panthers, but it's probably going to take two or three.

Winnebago can't afford to have any bad quarters either.

It should be an interesting game. The Indians could use a win to gain momentum for Thursday's home game against Pender.
