Howells-Dodge Boys and Girls beat Wisner-Pilger and Mead

The Howells-Dodge Boys continued their winning ways last week, defeating Wisner-Pilger 55-46 at home Friday night, and winning 65-27 at home over Mead on Saturday.

The Gators led the Jaguars 12-9 at the end of one. Howells-Dodge won the 2nd quarter 15-14 to make it a 26-24 game at halftime in favor of Wisner-Pilger.

The Jaguars won the 3rd quarter 14-9 to go up 38-35 at the end of three.

Howells-Dodge outscored the Gators 17-11 in the 4th quarter.

The Jaguars led the Raiders 18-8 at the end of one, and outscored Mead 21-5 in the 2nd quarter to take a 39-13 lead into the locker room.

Howells-Dodge outscored Mead 16-6 in the 3rd quarter to go up 55-19 at the end of three.

The Jaguars won the 4th quarter 10-8.

Really good dominant wins for Howells-Dodge over the weekend.

The Jaguars (10-4) host Tekamah-Herman (1-14) on Monday.

The Tigers lost 72-34 at home to Oakland-Craig Tuesday night.

This game was moved from Friday to Monday, and Saturday's game at Pender is weather permitting.

Howells-Dodge should be able to win both games.

The Jaguars really played well last weekend.

Howells-Dodge is rolling right now, and the last thing they want to do is sit around and not do anything this weekend.

Mother nature is what she is though, and if Howells-Dodge just plays on Monday then the Jaguars will have to deal with it the best they can.

If Howells-Dodge plays, they have to come out strong in both games and play well in the middle quarters too.

Building a big lead by playing well in the first three quarters would likely have the games put away in the 4th quarter.

The Jaguars need to come out and play great from the start in both contests.

Howells-Dodge has to build on what they've done lately, and keep moving forward.

The last thing the Jaguars want to do is look sluggish and sloppy this weekend.

Howells-Dodge has to play as if they're playing BRLD again, and must take it to the Tigers and Gators for four quarters.

The Jaguars have to get out and run and gun and shoot well from the perimeter.

Howells-Dodge has Logan View/Scribner-Snyder on Tuesday, and if the Jaguars could be 13-4 heading into the East Husker Conference Tournament it would be a big deal.

Howells-Dodge has won four in a row and seven out of their last eight so the Jaguars really have things going right now.

The Jaguars have to keep the ball rolling and perform at a high level.

The Howells-Dodge Girls Basketball Team won 50-35 at home over Wisner-Pilger Friday night, and downed Mead 72-42 at home on Saturday.

The Jaguars and Gators were tied at 10 at the end of one. Wisner-Pilger won the 2nd quarter 11-9 to take a 21-19 lead into the locker room.

Howells-Dodge won the 3rd quarter 16-10 to go up 35-31 at the end of three.

The Jaguars outscored the Gators 15-4 in the 4th quarter.

Jessi Brester had a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds while Riley Pokorny and Cassie Pieper notched 9 and 8, respectively.

Howells-Dodge doubled up Mead 14-7 in the 1st quarter, and outscored the Raiders 23-11 in the 2nd quarter to take a 37-18 lead into the locker room.

Mead won the 3rd quarter 13-12 to make it a 49-31 game at the end of three.

The Jaguars outscored the Raiders 23-11 in the 4th quarter.

Erin Prusa had a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds while Pieper totaled 19 points. Brester added 10.

Really nice wins for Howells-Dodge over the weekend.

The Jaguars (6-9) host Tekamah-Herman (3-13) on Monday.

The Tigers lost 62-38 at home to Oakland-Craig Tuesday night.

This game was moved from Friday to Monday due to the weather, and Saturday's game at Pender is weather permitting of course.

Hopefully the Jaguars can get the games in, but mother nature will do what she does.

Howells-Dodge has a good chance to get back to .500 heading into the East Husker Conference Tournament if they play all three games left prior to the tournament though.

If the Jaguars play on Saturday, they have to come out and play hard and smart and be sharp from the start.

Howells-Dodge has to jump on both the Tigers and Pendragons early, and force both teams to play from behind.

I think both games could be relatively close, but feel the Jaguars can and perhaps should win both games.

Pender will be very tough at home, but Howells-Dodge can definitely go in there and win, even if the game comes down to the wire.

As I mentioned before I think the Jaguars are a true Darkhorse in the East Husker Conference Tournament, and getting back to .500 before the Tournament would be good momentum for this team without a doubt.

Howells-Dodge has to play tough defense and run up and down the floor and get points in transition against Tekamah-Herman.

The Jaguars have to jump out to a lead and try and force an offensively challenged Tigers' squad to try and come from behind.

Howells-Dodge has to be ready and prepare as if they are going to play on Saturday and Monday.

The Jaguars have to be ready to go until if and when Saturday's game is called off.

Hopefully Howells-Dodge gets both games in, but if they don't perhaps both will get made up.

The Jaguars just have to make the best of whatever situation becomes of Saturday, and be ready to play then or on Monday either way.
