Winnebago Boys and Girls 1-2 in last three games

The Winnebago Boys Basketball Team lost 55-35 at home to Norfolk Catholic on Friday, December 21st before winning 62-53 over Lutheran High Northeast on Saturday at the Shootout on the Elkhorn Holiday Tournament in Wisner before losing 59-40 to Wakefield at the tournament on Monday.

The Indians and Eagles were tied at 10 at the end of one before Winnebago won the 2nd quarter 16-12 to go up 26-22 at halftime.

The Indians won the 3rd quarter 15-13 to lead 41-35 at the end of three.

Winnebago outscored LHNE 21-18 in the 4th quarter.

A pair of tough losses, but a couple of nice wins for the Indians.

Winnebago (4-4) takes on Laurel-Concord-Coleridge (9-1) on the road Friday night.

The Bears won 67-62 over Wayne at the Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout in Wayne on Monday.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is playing as well as anyone right now, and is a really good team.

The Indians are going to need to have the same type of effort that they got against the Eagles.

If Winnebago plays the way they did against Norfolk Catholic and Wakefield I think it's going to be tough to win.

This is a difficult game for the Indians, on the road at a team that is very good.

Winnebago has been there and done that before though, and I look for the Indians to go in there and play hard.

Winnebago has to go into Laurel expecting to win.

The Indians have to play the way they did against LHNE, especially offensively.

Offensive struggles against Norfolk Catholic and Wakefield killed Winnebago in both of those games.

The Indians have to get back to the high flying, up and down the floor game they're used to.

It's not like Winnebago's offense to get grounded, but that was the case against the Knights and Trojans.

The Indians have a big stretch of games coming up, and need to play well and to their full potential.

Finding a way to be consistent is going to be key for Winnebago I feel.

The Indians have looked great at times, but have struggled at others.

Inconsistency has reared its ugly head on Winnebago at times this season, but the Indians have also played a tough schedule.

Winnebago has to be re-energized and ready to go after being able to spend some time in the gym practicing.

The Indians have to come out and shoot well Friday night, and try and slow down a potent Bears attack.

The Winnebago Girls lost 47-36 at home to Norfolk Catholic on Friday, December 21st before winning 48-33 over Lutheran High Northeast at the Shootout on the Elkhorn on Saturday, and losing 54-31 to Pierce at the tournament on Monday.

The Knights got out to a 10-7 lead on the Indians at the end of one, and won the 2nd quarter 14-13 to take a 24-20 lead into the locker room.

Norfolk Catholic won the 3rd quarter 10-7 to extend their lead to 34-27 at the end of three.

The Knights outscored Winnebago 13-9 in the 4th quarter.

The Indians got out to a 17-9 lead on the Eagles at the end of one. Winnebago extended their lead to 11 by winning the 2nd quarter 8-5 to take a 25-14 lead into the locker room.

The Indians won the 3rd quarter 9-8 to go up 34-22 at the end of three.

Winnebago won the 4th quarter 14-11.

The Bluejays doubled up the Indians 12-6 in the 1st quarter before winning the 2nd quarter 10-7 to take a 22-13 lead into the locker room.

Pierce doubled up Winnebago 12-6 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 34-19 at the end of three.

The Bluejays outscored the Indians 20-12 in the 4th quarter.

Nice win over the Eagles, but like the boys, Winnebago really struggled offensively against Norfolk Catholic, and then again against Pierce.

The Indians (3-6) take on Laurel-Concord-Coleridge (5-5) on the road Friday night.

The Bears lost 51-40 to Norfolk Catholic at the Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout at Wayne State on Monday.

This should be a pretty good and evenly matched ball game.

Winnebago has to think they can win this because they definitely can.

It should be a good, interesting battle to say the least.

I think this game could be low scoring or about normal.

One way or another I think this game will be close.

I think there's the potential for the Indians to put up a lot of points and shutdown Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's offense though.

If Winnebago plays the way they did against LHNE then that would be great.

The Indians have been good defensively this season, they have just struggled to score in their losses.

I feel Winnebago is a team that continues to get better defensively, now it's a matter of getting the offense on the same page.

The Indians have to come ready to play and must put up a great fight Friday night.

Winnebago has to go into Laurel expecting to do well and win, and can't accept anything but a victory.

I feel the second half of the season could treat the Indians pretty well if they play up to their potential and make the necessary improvements.

Winnebago has to keep fighting and plugging away.

A win at Laurel-Concord-Coleridge would be a big and nice win for the Indians I feel.

Winnebago hasn't had a super close game this year so it will be interesting to see what the outcome is if things are really close and tight, which I think they could be.

The Indians have to stay calm as much as possible during storms thrown their way or during big moments, yet make the plays necessary to win.
