Wisner-Pilger Boys 3-0 in last three games; Girls 3-1 in last four
The Wisner-Pilger Boys defeated Stanton 58-49 at home on Thursday, December 20th before blowing out Battle Creek 61-37 at the Shootout on the Elkhorn on their home court on Saturday, and winning 48-44 over Ponca in the Tournament on Monday.

Wisner-Pilger won the 3rd quarter 14-11 to extend their lead to 44-36 at the end of three.
The Gators won the 4th quarter 14-13.
Wisner-Pilger led the Braves 13-11 at the end of one before winning the 2nd quarter 11-8 to take a 24-19 lead into the locker room.
The Gators outscored Battle Creek 13-4 in the 3rd quarter to go up 37-23 at the end of three.

The Gators outscored Ponca 17-11 in the 3rd quarter to lead 39-31 at the end of three.
The Indians won the 4th quarter 13-9.
What a good stretch of basketball for Wisner-Pilger. Can't go wrong with back-to-back wins over Battle Creek and Ponca, not to mention beating your rival in Stanton.
The Gators (7-2) host West Point-Beemer (4-3) Friday night.
The Cadets won 58-38 over Norfolk Catholic at the Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout at Wayne State on Monday.
Neither team got to play their full compliment of games over the Holidays so I'm sure both will be raring to go.
West Point-Beemer is young while Wisner-Pilger is a veteran laden and experienced team.
The Gators are at home too and that could very well spell victory for Wisner-Pilger.
This is a big juncture in the season for Wisner-Pilger so we'll see if they can stay hot.
It appears the Gators have gotten hot at the right time.
If Wisner-Pilger can make a run over the next couple of weeks or so then we could be discussing them as a conference and state contender.
I feel the Gators are among the best teams in the Conference, and could very well be the team to beat in Sub-Districts.
That's a ways off yet though and so the thing for Wisner-Pilger is to keep focusing in on one game at a time and take everything in stride.
The Gators have their hands full with a tough and talented West Point-Beemer team.
The Cadets are young and scrappy, and you have to figure this will be a great game given the nature of the rivalry.
I anticipate a full house and crowd for this one.
Wisner-Pilger figures to have the upper hand being at home, but West Point-Beemer cannot be counted out.
The Cadets played really well on Monday, and are extremely well rested.
The Gators need to keep things going given all the momentum they have right now though.
A loss would hurt just from the standpoint of Wisner-Pilger has gotten things going.
The Gators have to do everything in their power to make sure they don't lose.
The Wisner-Pilger Girls upset Stanton 38-21 at home on Thursday, December 20th before losing 59-26 to Battle Creek in the Shootout on the Elkhorn in Wisner on Saturday, and then beating Neligh-Oakdale 45-31 in the tournament on Monday. The Gators won 55-36 at Madison Thursday night.
The Gators tripled up the Mustangs 6-2 in the 1st quarter before winning the 2nd quarter 7-5 to take a 13-7 lead into the locker room.
Wisner-Pilger outscored Stanton 10-1 in the 3rd quarter to go up 23-8 at the end of three.
The Gators won the 4th quarter 15-13.
The Braves doubled up Wisner-Pilger 18-9 in the 1st quarter. Battle Creek outscored the Gators 17-6 in the 2nd quarter to take a 35-15 lead into the locker room.
The Braves tripled up Wisner-Pilger 12-4 in the 3rd quarter to go up 47-19 at the end of three.
Battle Creek won the 4th quarter 12-7.
The Gators went up 16-9 on the Warriors at the end of one, and won the 2nd quarter 9-8 to build a 25-17 halftime lead.
Wisner-Pilger outscored Neligh-Oakdale 13-7 in the 3rd quarter to go up 38-24 at the end of three.
Both teams scored 7 points in the 4th quarter.
The Gators jumped on the Dragons 23-8 at the end of one. Madison won the 2nd quarter 16-15 to make it a 38-24 game at halftime in favor of Wisner-Pilger.
The Gators tripled up the Dragons 9-3 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 47-27 at the end of three.
Madison won the 4th quarter 9-8.
Wisner-Pilger appears to be playing much better basketball than they were earlier in the season.
The Gators (4-6) host West Point-Beemer (9-0) Friday night.
The Cadets beat Hartington Cedar Catholic 57-44 at the Great Northeast Nebraska Shootout at Wayne State on Monday.
West Point-Beemer has so many girls that can hurt you and score, including Sierra Kile, Sidney Swanson, Andrea Hoffman, and others.
The Cadets appear to be the real deal this year.
With that said, Wisner-Pilger has been playing good basketball lately and upset Stanton at home.
If West Point-Beemer has an off shooting night then anything is possible.
The Gators have to play optimistic and try and get the Cadets in foul trouble.
West Point-Beemer hasn't really been pushed to the brink by anyone this year so if Wisner-Pilger can make things close at the end of the game then they could spring the upset.
Jordan Wegner needs to have a big game for the Gators.
Wisner-Pilger needs to do what they've done in their last three wins.
The Gators can defend with the best of them, but it's the offense that tends to struggle.
I think Wisner-Pilger is going to need to both score and defend well to knock off the Cadets.
The Gators have been coming along nicely the last couple of games offensively though so we'll see if that carries over to Friday night.
I fully expect Wisner-Pilger to compete their hearts out and leave it all out on the floor.
Whether that yields a win or not remains to be seen, but the Gators have to believe.
Anyone is beatable on any given night, especially when it comes to rivalries.
Wisner-Pilger already knocked off one rival this year so who's to say they can't beat another?
The Gators have to be brewing with confidence given the way they've been playing lately.
If Wisner-Pilger upsets West Point-Beemer they will turn a lot of heads.
