Bancroft-Rosalie Boys fall to Mead in Sub Districts

The Bancroft-Rosalie Boys lost 50-35 to Mead in the D2-3 Sub District at Clarkson Tuesday night.

The Raiders led the Panthers 17-11 at the end of one. Mead won the second quarter 10-9 to go up 27-20 at halftime.

The Raiders outscored Bancroft-Rosalie 8-5 in the third quarter to lead 35-25 at the end of three.

Mead put up 15 fourth quarter points compared to 10 for the Panthers.

Mario Aldrich led the way with 25 points. Aaron Ras added 8 rebounds.

Bancroft-Rosalie gave it their best shot, but the Panthers just weren't able to beat a team like Mead.

Bancroft-Rosalie finishes the season 12-11.

The Panthers started off the season so well, but slipped after the Holiday Break.

It wasn't quite the season Bancroft-Rosalie was hoping for coming off last year and the year before, but the Panthers still did some nice things in their final season.

Bancroft-Rosalie picked up big wins over Lyons-Decatur Northeast and Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family, and competed well against the likes of North Bend Central and Omaha Nation.

The Panthers were kind of inconsistent this year, and I think that's what prevented them from having the kind of season they were hoping for.

Bancroft-Rosalie says goodbye to Aldrich and Dayne Wortman. Everyone else returns for what will be the Bancroft-Rosalie-Lyons-Decatur Wolverines.

Key returners include Ras, Jacob Zuhlke, Kenyan Lovejoy, Trent Gatewood, Michael Snyder, and Wyatt Hennig.

I think next year's co-op team has a chance to be good given the fact the Wolverines will also have Cole Christoffersen, Hunter Ferguson, and Tyler Hardeman from Lyons-Decatur Northeast.

The Cougars lose a talented group of seniors, but the three players listed above should really help out the new co-op team next year.

It will be interesting to see how the Bancroft-Rosalie-Lyons-Decatur Wolverines fare in 2016-2017.
