The North Bend Central Boys won 59-50 at Howells-Dodge Friday night.
The Tigers led 20-9 at the end of the first quarter. The Jaguars outscored North Bend Central 15-8 in the second quarter to make it a 28-24 game at halftime.
The Tigers won the third quarter 15-12 to lead 43-36 at the end of three.
North Bend Central put up 16 fourth quarter points compare to 14 for Howells-Dodge.
This was a quality win for the Tigers. The Jaguars are a solid team.
North Bend Central (20-1) hosts Fort Calhoun (16-5) Friday night.
The Pioneers won 66-53 over Raymond Central at home on Saturday.
Fort Calhoun is a good team, and will no doubt bring their best against the Tigers.
North Bend Central needs to keep winning should they need a wildcard to get in to state.
This game is important for the Tigers. It really matters.
Right now, North Bend Central is sitting 5th in C-1 in power points.
The Tigers need to keep winning to ensure themselves a trip to Lincoln.
It has been a great season for North Bend Central, but the Tigers' work is not done yet.
North Bend Central still has a lot to prove in an effort to prove their doubters wrong.
The Tigers have a tough sub district with Columbus Scotus in there, but given the way the Shamrocks are playing right now, anything is possible.
North Bend Central hasn't gotten a whole lot of love, but all this team does is win.
That's the bottomline. The Tigers know how to win, whether it's a blowout or a close game.
I will admit, I have been skeptical of North Bend Central. But ever since the Tigers beat Twin River in the East Husker Conference Tournament I said to myself "I think this team is good."
The Tigers don't play the toughest schedule, but North Bend Central wins with the hand they are dealt. And that's all the Tigers can do.
