Wisner-Pilger Boys down Wayne in Sub Districts, lose to Pierce to end season

The Wisner-Pilger Boys saw their season come to a conclusion Tuesday night as the Gators lost 62-48 to Pierce in the C1-7 Sub District at Norfolk High. Wisner-Pilger defeated Wayne 50-42 in last Monday night's play-in game.

The Gators did a good job beating the Blue Devils. I had a feeling Wisner-Pilger would win that game.

The Gators conclude the 2015-2016 campaign with a 9-15 record.

Wisner-Pilger had somewhat of a tough season, but still managed to pick up quality wins over Oakland-Craig, Bancroft-Rosalie, Howells-Dodge, and Madison.

The Gators gave Lutheran High Northeast, Stanton, Neligh-Oakdale, Battle Creek, North Bend Central, Lyons-Decatur Northeast, and Twin River tough games.

Wisner-Pilger only really had one bad loss, and that was to Clarkson/Leigh.

The Gators graduate Alex Katsanos, Riley Ruskamp, Jacob Von Seggern, and Logan Godbersen.

Wisner-Pilger brings back Jayden Raabe, Hunter Waterman, Korrell Koehlmoos, and others.

I think the Gators have the potential to be better next season, but it's not going to be easy.

Wisner-Pilger's returning players and newcomers have to dedicate themselves to the gym and weight room this offseason, and get faster, bigger, and stronger.

Next year's Gator players have to improve in every facet of the game before November rolls around. Every player should compete for playing time, and make things super competitive during team camps, open gyms, conditioning, summer leagues, and practice when the time comes.

Every player needs to get better if Wisner-Pilger is to have more success next season.

There's not a single player on the team who can afford to stay the same or get worse if the Gators want to be better next year than they were this year.
