Clarkson/Leigh Girls fall to Stanton

The Clarkson/Leigh Girls lost 56-24 at home to Stanton Tuesday night.

The Mustangs led the Patriots 23-5 after one. Stanton doubled up Clarkson/Leigh 10-5 in the second quarter to take a 33-10 lead into the locker room.

The Mustangs won the third quarter 9-8 to go up 42-18 at the end of three.

Stanton outscored the Patriots 14-6 in the fourth quarter.

Clarkson/Leigh had a disappointing showing Tuesday night. I'm sure the Patriots feel they could and should have done better.

Clarkson/Leigh (4-18) takes on Battle Creek (8-16) Monday night in the C2-5 Sub District play-in game at Norfolk Catholic.

The Braves rounded out their regular season Thursday night with a 48-40 win at Hartington Cedar
Catholic.

Battle Creek has certainly played well in their last two games, and will be tough for the Patriots to beat without a doubt.

Clarkson/Leigh is going to have to play an amazing game to knock off the Braves. It's probably going to take the Patriots' best performance of the season for Clarkson/Leigh to pick up the win.

The Patriots must play well on offense and defense. Playing poorly on both sides or one side of the floor could very well prove to be costly.

Clarkson/Leigh has to play their tails off for four quarters and continue to fight and battle hard until the very end.

The Patriots can't let up at any point in the game, regardless of what the score is.

The season is on the line for Clarkson/Leigh, and the Patriots' play has to reflect that.

This is it. It is do or die for Clarkson/Leigh. The Patriots must have a good showing if they want to win and extend their season another night.

Monday night's game is set to tip-off at 7:00 p.m. The game can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The winner gets Stanton Tuesday evening at 6:00.
