Tekamah-Herman Girls lose to Fort Calhoun in Sub Districts

The season came to an end last Tuesday night for the Tekamah Herman girls, who lost to Fort Calhoun 42 to 31 in sub-districts.

Head Coach Scott Guzinski. "The fidelity of it, no matter when it comes, is hard. And especially, I've got seven seniors on my team. Kids, all seven of them have been out all four years. Some of them have been starters for three years. And you spend a lot of time with them, and you get attached to them, so it's hard."

The Tigers say goodbye to Hannah Tobin, Allie Snow, Sammi Surber, Katheryn Gregerson, Leia Farrens, Maggie Garcia, and Liz Burley.

These seven seniors helped lead Tekamah-Herman to a 13-10 season.

The highlights of the Tigers' season include a season-opening win over Stanton, a regular season win over Fort Calhoun, and wins against Howells-Dodge and Lyons-Decatur Northeast.

Tekamah-Herman did some nice things this season, the Tigers just didn't have enough in the tank at the end to make a postseason run.

Returning for Tekamah-Herman is Maddy Horn, Marin Jetensky, Jess Fleischman, and others.

The Tigers certainly lose some good players, but return some talent as well.

It will be interesting to see what next year's incoming freshman class provides because Tekamah-Herman will need some help from this year's 8th graders next season.

I imagine the Tigers will figure things out by November and get everyone squared away in terms of who is doing what, but there's a lot of growth and improvement to be had and done this offseason for Tekamah-Herman.

It's always tough losing a talented senior class, and replacing the seven seniors lost from this year's team won't be easy.

However, seniors are lost pretty much every year, and that simply means it's time for new talent to step up and discover their role with the team.
