Tekamah-Herman Boys lose regular season finale at Douglas County West

The Tekamah-Herman Boys lost their regular season finale Friday night, falling 55-29 at Douglas County West.

The Falcons led 9-6 at the end of one. Douglas County West won the second quarter 15-9 to take a 24-15 lead into the locker room.

The Falcons outscored the Tigers 20-7 in the third quarter to lead 44-22 at the end of three.

Douglas County West notched 11 fourth quarter points compared to 7 for Tekamah-Herman.

Gus Langley had a team-high 11 points. Matt Gross added 8 rebounds.

The Tigers were severely handicapped without Derek Haber, who was lost to a season ending torn ACL.

Tekamah-Herman (2-19) battles West Point-Beemer (8-15) in the C1-6 Sub District at Oakland-Craig Monday night.

The Cadets ended their regular season last Friday night with a 72-61 loss at Oakland-Craig.

These two teams met in West Point on January 16th with West Point-Beemer winning 48-36.

The Cadets caught the Tigers when West Point-Beemer was in the midst of a four-game winning streak.

It could be argued that the Cadets were playing better basketball then than they are now.

However, Tekamah-Herman not having Haber changes everything.

The Tigers are going to need Langley, Gross, Dustin Pickell, and Bailey Fleischman to all step up and score a lot of points.

Tekamah-Herman realistically needs all these players in double figures or close to double figures to have a shot, in my opinion.

I'm not too overly concerned with the Tigers' defense. Tekamah-Herman should be able to slow down West Point-Beemer's offense.

It's just the Tigers' offense I worry about. I don't know if Tekamah-Herman has enough horses offensively to score enough points to win.

It's sub districts though, and anything can happen.

Listen to Monday night's game on 107.9 the Bull. It's set to tip-off at 7:00 p.m.
