Tekamah-Herman Boys and Girls drop East Husker Conference Tournament Consolation Games

The Tekamah-Herman Boys lost their East Husker Conference Tournament Consolation Game at Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Friday night, falling 62-34.

The Raiders led 18-7 after the first quarter. Logan View/Scribner-Snyder won the second quarter 12-9 to take a 30-16 lead into the locker room.

The Raiders outscored the Tigers 13-5 in the third quarter to go up 43-21 at the end of three.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder scored 19 fourth quarter points compared to 13 for Tekamah-Herman.

Gus Langley finished with a team-high 13 points while Derek Haber totaled 9.

The Tigers really struggled Friday night. I thought the game had the potential to be closer than it was, but credit the Raiders for coming ready to play.

Tekamah-Herman (2-16) hosts Fort Calhoun (14-5) Tuesday night.

The Pioneers won 74-31 over Omaha Brownell-Talbot at home on Saturday.

Fort Calhoun is a good team that has only lost to quality teams.

The Pioneers have won nine out of their last ten.

The Tigers certainly have their work cut out for them, but anything is possible.

If Tekamah-Herman plays inspired and out of their minds, a win is not out of them realm of possibility.

It's probably going to take something extraordinary for the Tigers to win, but don't ever count out a team when they're playing one of their last home games of the regular season.

Tekamah-Herman only has two home games left. This game Tuesday night and Thursday night against Ashland-Greenwood.

That's it, and then one more road game before sub districts.

These players, and in particular these seniors, need to step things up and play better than they have.

There's no excuse for getting blown out by 30. The Tigers have to be tougher.

Tekamah-Herman has a chance to knock off a quality team Tuesday night. We will see what happens and if the Tigers can get the job done.

The Tekamah-Herman Girls lost 51-40 at North Bend Central in an East Husker Conference Tournament Consolation game Thursday night.

I'm sure Tekamah-Herman was disappointed by the outcome. The good news is Tekamah-Herman gets another shot at North Bend Central.

It's same place, different day as Tekamah-Herman (13-8) takes on North Bend Central (15-4) in North Bend Tuesday night.

I was wrong when I said I thought Tekamah-Herman might take round one based on how both teams were playing prior to the game.

I really thought Tekamah-Herman might win, but it just didn't happen.

With that said, I think Tekamah-Herman still has the potential to win this time around.

It's going to be tough, and it may not happen, but as long as Tekamah-Herman plays optimistic basketball, anything can happen.

It's the last game of the regular season for Tekamah-Herman, and a win could give this team a huge boost of confidence heading into sub districts.

Tekamah-Herman is definitely capable of beating North Bend Central this time around, but they have to increase their intensity level, both on offense and defense.

Allie Snow, Marin Jetensky, Sammi Surber, Hannah Tobin, and Jess Fleischman all need to step up and play well for Tekamah-Herman.

I look for Tuesday night's game to be close and entertaining. I feel much if not all of the game will be tight.

There's no doubt this is a game both teams really want. May the best team win.

It's always tough to beat a team twice in a row so I think the advantage lies with Tekamah-Herman, but North Bend Central is definitely capable of winning again.
