Bancroft-Rosalie Boys beat Howells-Dodge, fall to Omaha Nation
The Bancroft-Rosalie Boys beat Howells-Dodge 54-46 at home last Tuesday night before falling 76-72 at home to Omaha Nation Friday night.
The Panthers led the Jaguars 13-11 at the end of one. Howells-Dodge won the second quarter 15-13 to tie the game at 26 at halftime.
The Jaguars outscored Bancroft-Rosalie 12-10 in the third quarter to lead 38-36 at the end of three.
The Panthers notched 18 fourth quarter points compared to 8 for Howells-Dodge.
Mario Aldrich finished with a team-high 16 points while Aaron Ras totaled 13 points and 9 rebounds. Dayne Wortman added 11 points while Kenyan Lovejoy registered 8 rebounds.
The Chiefs led Bancroft-Rosalie 23-18 at the end of one. Omaha Nation won the second quarter 13-10 to lead 36-28 at halftime.
The Chiefs outscored the Panthers 21-16 in the third quarter to go up 57-44 at the end of three.
Bancroft-Rosalie put up 28 fourth quarter points compared to 19 for Omaha Nation.
Aldrich led the way with 19 points while Ras had 14 points and 16 rebounds, good enough for a double-double. Lovejoy added 13 points and 9 rebounds while Wortman, Michael Snyder, and Wyatt Hennig totaled 7 points apiece.
Despite the loss to the Chiefs, the Panthers played good basketball last week.
Bancroft-Rosalie (11-10) takes on Pender (2-18) on the road Friday night.
The Pendragons lost 80-41 at home to Madison on Saturday.
The Panthers shouldn't have much trouble beating Pender, but Bancroft-Rosalie still has to come ready to play.
The Panthers really need to play well and pick up a big win heading into sub districts.
Bancroft-Rosalie has a tough match up with Mead in sub districts next week so it's really important for the Panthers to play a complete, flawless game against the Pendragons.
This is one of those games that Bancroft-Rosalie needs to win big so the Panthers can rest starters before postseason play begins.
This is the last regular season game the Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers will ever play so Bancroft-Rosalie has to make it count.
The Panthers need to get the same kind of scoring contributions they got against Omaha Nation, but need to play defense the way they did against Howells-Dodge.
I look for Bancroft-Rosalie to put together a complete game performance to end the regular season.
This should be a big win for the Panthers, there's no reason to think it won't be.
Pender may play inspired with it being their final home game, but I don't see the Pendragons playing well enough to knock off Bancroft-Rosalie.
It would be good for the Panthers to end the regular season with a win.
