Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Girls lose to Clarkson/Leigh in East Husker Conference Tournament

The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder girls basketball team dropped a close one in the consolation round of the East Husker Conference Tournament Thursday night to Clarkson-Leigh by a final of 48-44.

The Raiders led in the third quarter and were tied after 3, but were unable to hang on late in the game.

Paige Heinke led all game scorers with 21 points, she also added 4 steals. Other scorers were Kaylee Boyle-9, Abby Kahlandt-5, MacKenzy Schreck-3, Ashley Peters-3, Sierra Beacom-2, Breanna Smith-1. Beacom also added 5 assists.

The Raiders (3-16) will wrap up the regular season this week with home games against Arlington, Boys Town, and Lyons Decatur Northeast.

I think all three games are winnable for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, especially the first two.

I feel the Raiders have a really good chance to knock off the Eagles and Cowboys, and perhaps can beat the Cougars with it being the last game of the regular season.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder came so close to beating Clarkson/Leigh, and I feel the Raiders made a lot of strides from the Howells-Dodge game to the game against the Patriots.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder played better offensively and defensively against Clarkson/Leigh, and has to do even better against this week's foes.

It will be interesting to see if the Raiders can get the job done this week. I have faith that Logan View/Scribner-Snyder can pick up a couple of wins, but we shall see.

The Raiders have to finish a lot better than they did the Patriots.

Heinke and Boyle played really well for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder when the Raiders took on Clarkson/Leigh. Those two need to have big games again for the Raiders to have a chance to be successful.

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder could really use a couple of wins this week to boost their confidence for sub districts.

The Raiders want to be playing at a really high level by the time next week arrives.
