Howells-Dodge Boys lose to Lutheran High Northeast in final regular season game

The Howells-Dodge Boys lost 73-34 at Lutheran High Northeast in Friday night's regular season finale.

The Eagles led 16-5 after one. Lutheran High Northeast won the second quarter 19-11 to go up 35-16 at halftime.

The Eagles outscored the Jaguars 21-10 in the third quarter to lead 56-26 at the end of three.

Lutheran High Northeast put up 17 fourth quarter points compared to 8 for Howells-Dodge.

Connor Blum had a team-high 13 points while Tyler Polacek registered 11.

This was a really difficult loss for the Jaguars. Howells-Dodge definitely couldn't afford to have had this happen right before sub districts.

The Jaguars (8-15) take on Osceola (15-9) Tuesday night in the D1-4 Sub District at David City Aquinas.

The Bulldogs lost 43-41 at home to BDS Friday night.

The Eagles are a very good team, and to lose to them by just two points says a lot about Osceola.

I think Howells-Dodge could have a difficult time with the Bulldogs.

I think the Jaguars can definitely step up and beat Osceola, but Howells-Dodge has to play a lot better than they did against Lutheran High Northeast.

The Jaguars must have a short memory because their season is on the line Tuesday night.

It's hard saying how well Howells-Dodge is going to play, but I definitely think they can step up and play a good game.

It all has to start on the defensive end of the floor for the Jaguars though. Howells-Dodge has to have their defense lead to their offense, and play a really good game.

Polacek, Blum, Mitchell Prusa, Luke Renter, and others need to step up and have good games for the Jaguars.

Howells-Dodge has to play with a sense of urgency and purpose Tuesday night.

The Jaguars have to mean business, and play at a really high level.

Howells-Dodge has to get off to a fast start and finish strong. A complete game effort is probably what it is going to take to beat the Bulldogs.

Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
