The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Girls began a tough week with a home matchup against Howells-Dodge.
The
Raiders were defeated by a final score of 60-36.
Grayce McCormick led the
scoring for LVSS with 8 points. Other scorers included Kaylee Boyle-7, Paige
Heinke-6, Abby Kahlandt-6, Haley Bundy-5, Ashley Peters-4.
The week continued for the Raiders
against Twin River, again the Raiders were unable to overcome a slow start and
fell by a final of 49-17.
Grayce McCormick, Sierra Beacom, and Kaylee Boyle led
the scoring with 4 points apiece. Other scorers were Ashley Peters-3 and Abby
Kahlandt-2. Boyle also added 7 rebounds and 2 steals.
The week concluded for LVSS with another match up with Howells-Dodge
this time in the conference tournament.
The Raiders entered the tournament as
the 14 seed, and fell by a final of 65-15.
Siera Beacom was the teams leading
scorer with 5 points. Other scorers were Kaylee Boyle-4, Ashley Uhing-3, Grayce
McCormick-2, Abby Kahlandt-1.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder played better offensively against the Jaguars the first time around. Unfortunately, it didn't carry over into the Raiders' next two games.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (3-15) continues East Husker Conference Tournament play Thursday night when the Raiders take on Clarkson/Leigh (3-16) on the road.
The Patriots lost 51-41 at Oakland-Craig Friday night in the first round of the tournament.
Clarkson/Leigh has lost nine in a row and hasn't won a game in 2016 as of yet.
That has to give the Raiders some hope.
If Logan View/Scribner-Snyder can score the way they did against Howells-Dodge the first time the two teams played, and get back to playing the type of defense they are capable of, there's no doubt in my mind they can win.
It's going to take a really good game on the Raiders' part for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder to win, in my opinion, but certainly anything is possible.
The Raiders have to shoot and play with confidence, and leave it all out on the floor.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder has to give it their all for 32 minutes, and see what happens.
I honestly think the Patriots have the best chance of winning, but there is a reason the games are played.
Anything can happen, and the Raiders have to be optimistic about their chances.
Thursday night's game is scheduled to tip-off at 6:00 p.m.
I'm sure Logan View/Scribner-Snyder would like to snap their six-game losing streak, and get back on the winning side of things.
