North Bend Central Girls 1-2 in last three games

The North Bend Central Girls are 1-2 in their last two games, losing 51-45 in overtime at Wisner-Pilger Thursday night, beating Madison 49-13 at home in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament Friday night, and losing 45-36 at home to Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family in the quarterfinals of the tournament Monday night.

The Bulldogs tripled up the Tigers 9-3 in the first quarter. North Bend Central won the second quarter 12-8 to make it a 17-15 game at halftime.

Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family outscored the Tigers 15-7 in the third quarter to go up 32-22 at the end of three.

The Tigers notched 14 fourth quarter points compared to 13 for the Bulldogs.

North Bend Central is in a slump all of a sudden. The Tigers have picked the wrong time of the season to start struggling.

North Bend Central (14-4) takes on Tekamah-Herman (13-7) in a conference tournament consolation game at home Thursday night.

Tekamah-Herman lost 55-51 to West Point-Beemer in the tournament quarterfinals Monday night.

Tekamah-Herman has played really good basketball lately and figures to pose a tough challenge for North Bend Central.

North Bend Central needs to show up and be ready to play a good game.

North Bend Central can't afford to play sloppy and uninspired. They can't be down about not being in the semifinals.

I honestly think Tekamah-Herman will probably be the team that wants to be there more, but that doesn't mean they'll win.

The game is on North Bend Central's home floor and I think North Bend Central will show up inspired and play well.

It's going to be anyone's game, in my opinion. The contest is up for grabs.

North Bend Central has to play solid defense, and get their offense going. Both need to be in sync like the Madison game.

Thursday night's game is set to start after the Pender/Stanton game, which is slated to start at 6:00 p.m.
