Bancroft-Rosalie Girls drop game to Pender in East Husker Conference Tournament

The Bancroft-Rosalie Girls dropped their first game of the East Husker Conference Tournament Friday night, falling 54-41 to Pender in Oakland.

The Pendragons led 12-10 at the end of the first quarter. Pender outscored the Panthers 18-12 in the second quarter to take a 30-22 lead into the locker room.

The Pendragons won the third quarter 13-9 to go up 43-31 at the end of three.

Pender notched 11 fourth quarter points compared to 10 for Bancroft-Rosalie.

Paige Peters had a team-high 10 points while Kassidi Browning added 7.

I thought the Panthers would play a lot better than they did. I figured this game would at least be decided by single digits, but I was wrong.

Bancroft-Rosalie (6-11) squares off with Twin River (10-8) in a consolation game of the tournament Thursday night in Wisner.

The Titans lost 46-44 in overtime to Stanton Friday night.

This is another one of those games I think the Panthers can win, but I'm not sure if they will.

I think a lot of it depends on which Bancroft-Rosalie team shows up.

If the Panthers' team that can score a lot points shows up, then Bancroft-Rosalie is in good shape.

But if the team that played Pender shows up again, the Panthers could very well lose.

Twin River isn't a bad team, but I don't feel they're as strong as the Pendragons.

It will be interesting to see how both teams play now that they're both out of the running for the championship.

I'm sure this game still matters to both teams. It has to.

Bancroft-Rosalie needs to use this game as a building block for the rest of the season.

There are only a few games left, and so the Panthers need to make the most of their games from here on out.

Thursday's game is slated to start after the Wisner-Pilger/Lyons-Decatur Northeast game, which is scheduled to tip-off at 6:00 p.m.
