Lyons-Decatur Northeast showed how resilient and tough they are by jumping on Madison early, and coming from behind to beat Clarkson/Leigh.

The Cougars (13-4) will no doubt need to be tough and resilient Friday night when Lyons-Decatur Northeast battles North Bend Central (17-1) in the East Husker Conference Semifinals in North Bend.

The Tigers beat Bancroft-Rosalie 66-58 in the quarterfinals at home Monday night, going on a 19-0 run to close the game.

North Bend Central just keeps finding ways to win games. It's not that they're a whole lot better than their competition, it's just they're super tough and resilient.

The Tigers have been down late in games lately, and yet have found ways to comeback and win. That's a sign of a really good team.

North Bend Central is very good, but the Cougars have to be optimistic about their chances.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast, like the Tigers, has some scorers and is capable of playing tough defense.

These two teams are somewhat equal in my mind. Both teams have had really good seasons, and are capable of taking that next step and reaching the championship game.

It should be a good, tough, physical battle between the two squads. It's going to be tough for the Cougars to win, especially with the game being on North Bend Central's home floor, but anything can happen.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast has to play their game and cannot not be intimidated.

Friday night's game is set to tip off at 6:00 p.m. It can be heard on 107.9 the Bull.

The winner gets either Twin River or Stanton in the championship game on Saturday in Columbus.
