The Howells-Dodge Girls are unbeaten in the East Husker Conference Tournament so far, downing Logan View/Scribner-Snyder 65-15 at home Friday night and Stanton 58-42 at home Monday night. The Jaguars won 60-36 at Logan View/Scribner-Snyder in a regular season game last Tuesday night.

Howells-Dodge went up 19-8 on the Raiders at the end of one last Tuesday night. The Jaguars outscored Logan View/Scribner-Snyder 18-7 in the third quarter to lead 37-15 at halftime.

In the East Husker Conference Tournament game with the Raiders, the Jaguars spurted out to a 31-3 lead at the end of one. Howells-Dodge doubled up Logan View/Scribner-Snyder 14-7 in the third quarter to take a 45-10 lead into the locker room.

The Jaguars outscored the Raiders 11-2 in the third quarter to go up 56-12 at the end of three.

The Jaguars and Mustangs were tied at 13 after one. Stanton won the second quarter 13-12 to lead 26-25 at halftime.

Howells-Dodge outscored the Mustangs 18-5 in the third quarter to go up 43-31 at the end of three.

The Jaguars notched 15 fourth quarter points compared to 11 for Stanton.

Sam Brester led the way with 24 points and 8 rebounds while Prusa chipped in 7 points.

Howells-Dodge has really raised their level of play in the East Husker Conference Tournament. The Jaguars are making a strong case to be in the conference championship game.

Howells-Dodge (15-4) squares off with Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family (13-6) Thursday night in the conference tournament semifinals in West Point

The Bulldogs are sort of the surprise team in the tournament as they upset North Bend Central 45-36 in North Bend Monday night.

The Jaguars certainly have to be wary of what Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family has done, and be ready to play.

Howells-Dodge needs an effort like they got against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder the first time.

The Jaguars have to come out and take the bull by the horns so to speak. Howells-Dodge has to start much better than they did against Stanton.

It took the Jaguars a little while to get going against the Mustangs, and if Howells-Dodge is neck and neck with the Bulldogs the whole way, they could lose.

That's why the Jaguars need to have another huge quarter like they had against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder and Stanton.

One quarter could very well make the difference in this game also, but I could also see things being close the whole way and going down to the wire.

I think either team is capable of winning and getting the job done. It should be a really good game.

You can hear the game on 107.9 the Bull after the West Point-Beemer/Oakland-Craig game, which is set to start at 6:00 p.m.
